Beth Secrist is program officer for IT services at ARL. Since joining the organization in 2006, Beth has worked on a host of issues and IT projects including outsourcing IT and web services integration (e.g., Google Analytics, e-commerce, event registrations).

Providing support to ARL and partner organizations, Beth has also provided service solutions in areas such as learning management systems (Instructure/Canvas for E-Science Institute) and digital publishing (Tizra for ARL Digital Publications).

Prior to joining ARL, Beth was director of the Technology across the Curriculum (TAC) program at George Mason University, integrating IT learning outcomes in the undergraduate curriculum and sponsoring projects in digital scholarship supporting TAC initiatives. She was also director of the Language Resource Center (LRC) and Italian instructor at the University of Tennessee. Through her collaboration with UT Libraries and the Office of Information Technologies, the LRC was one of the first all-digital language labs in the US. 

Beth received her BA in French and MSLS from the University of Tennessee, and has done additional graduate coursework in learning theory and instructional technologies. She has additional graduate studies in international affairs from the Johns Hopkins University SAIS Bologna Center.
