SPEC Examines Collection Development

OMS announces the availability of SPEC Kit #207, Organization of
Collection Development by Gordon Rowley, Assistant Director for
Collections, Iowa State University.  This Kit describes the
organizational models for collection development currently found in ARL
libraries.  It also includes information on changes that have occurred
since 1987, especially as a result of the use of electronic records and
automated library management systems in collection development work, as
well as from the increasing distribution of electronic information
resources and their inclusion in librariesU collections.
