Slide 3 of 10
Notes:
Each project starts with focus groups with faculty from each discipline to determine research and teaching needs, which are then taken into account as we develop sites geared to the requirements of a particular discipline (international affairs, earth sciences, and history are the first three areas of focus) All of our publications are developed in response to expressed needs of scholarsí in that particular field, and the ongoing process of editorial, technical, and business development is done in close collaboration with these faculty members.
CIAO: The newest development is that we are testing new ways of integrating research and teaching in a series of case studies that integrate audio, video, maps, and archival material designed to assist faculty in teaching the introduction to international affairs course.
Earthscape: Our goal is to provide innovative and useful resources for a broad range of users. A user could, for example, reference recent research, prepare for teaching a class, create student assignments, and check proceedings from a recent conference, all in one resource.
Gutenberg-e: Goal is to create new models of historical scholarship and test acceptance of peer-reviewed electronic publishing backed by a prestigious scholarly association.
