Are authors now becoming collaborators in the creation of new kinds of resources for within their discipline?
Are publishers now research centers that create new models and actually lead innovation in a field?
Will academic computing centers lead innovations in web-based resources and chart the course of research in a field because they can demonstrate the potential of information technology?
Will libraries enable new ventures in scholarly communication and serve as incubators for new ventures by providing expertise in content development and organization, indexing, storage, and retrieval mechanisms, and support for users?
