Project Staffing
Two content editors (Press employees)
One Programmer (AcIS employee)
One Web Developer (AcIS employee)
Advice on project organization, distribution, and pricing models (Librarians)
Marketing, Customer service (Press employees)
Notes:
These are the direct costs to run Earthscape. There are other costs that are covered because they are embedded within the infrastructure of the university: programmers who work in our academic computing organization, marketing and customer service staff who work for the Press, librarians who provide advice on licensing and pricing arrangements, and faculty who advise on the content development. By building these resources using some of the already-existing infrastructures, we are able to support the projects long-term on more modest budgets and with stronger operational frameworks.
