If we look at the university as a whole, we can see that it has the potential to provide most of the elements needed to create scholar-centered digital resources right within its walls.
Editorial development: faculty can take a lead in suggesting needs and proposing models for resources, as well as provide the expertise for peer review.
IP/Copyright management: understanding of rights issues from both a creatorís and userís perspective.
User services: libraryís expertise.
Outreach/marketing dissemination: Traditional publishing function.
Sustainability: Various organizations must combine institutional support with outside revenue sources to create a stable infrastructure and operations over the long term.
