I am not here as an expert on special collections. Indeed, when I told my husband I was giving a talk at this conference, he asked incredulously, “What are you going to talk about? Information technology and special collections? Interlibrary loan and special collections?’

I’m going to talk about ARL, which I DO know something about. I hope to give you some approaches to getting special collections on the ARL agenda, or high on the ARL agenda.
