ARL Annual Salary Survey 2007-2008

This report analyzes salary data for all professional staff working in the 123 ARL member libraries during 2007-08. Data are reported for 9,983 professional staff in the 113 university ARL libraries and for 3,797 professional staff in the 10 non-university ARL libraries.

Lies, Damned Lies, ... and ARL Statistics?

In 1986, Kendon Stubbs reported on the ARL Statistics Committee's examination of ARL data. This paper is intended to summarize the committee's work under the topics of (1) problems with the data that ARL collects; (2) problems with what ARL does not collect; (3) problems with data collection generally; and (4) proposed courses of action by the committee.
