Library Assessment Conference 2014 Travel Award Recipients Selected

These grants are offered to students and early-career professionals from historically underrepresented racial and ethnic groups who have demonstrated a strong interest in assessment and have the potential to contribute to the profession by deploying and developing innovative assessment and evaluation methods and strategies. The awards cover attendance, travel, and meals at the Library Assessment Conference, which will be held at the University of Washington (UW) in Seattle, August 4–7, 2014.

 
 

ARL Annual Salary Survey 2013–2014

This report analyzes salary data for all professional staff working in the 125 ARL member libraries during 2013-2014. Data are reported for 10,168 professional staff in the 115 university ARL libraries and for 3,791 professional staff in the 10 nonuniversity ARL libraries.

Library Assessment Career Achievement Awardees Named for 2014

These awards recognize individuals with substantial contributions to effective, sustainable, and practical library assessment as evidenced through presentations, publications, methods, service, advocacy, and other work. The 2014 awardees are Brinley Franklin, Fred Heath, Jim Self, and Joan Stein.

 
 

LibQUAL+® Awards In-Kind Grants to Two Libraries for 2014 Survey

ClimateQUAL®: Organizational Climate and Diversity Assessment—Call for Participation 2014–2015

The online survey collects information about: (a) library staff perceptions of the organization’s commitment to the principles of diversity, (b) staff perceptions of organizational policies and procedures, and (c) staff attitudes. The survey addresses such issues as diversity, teamwork, learning, fairness, current managerial practices, and staff attitudes and beliefs.
