ARL Annual Salary Survey 2013–2014

This report analyzes salary data for all professional staff working in the 125 ARL member libraries during 2013-2014. Data are reported for 10,168 professional staff in the 115 university ARL libraries and for 3,791 professional staff in the 10 nonuniversity ARL libraries.

ClimateQUAL® Lite Web Seminar to Be Offered by ARL—September 11, 2014

The ClimateQUAL survey collects information about (a) library staff perceptions of the organization’s commitment to the principles of diversity, (b) staff perceptions of organizational policies and procedures, and (c) staff attitudes. The survey addresses such issues as diversity, teamwork, learning, fairness, current managerial practices, and staff attitudes and beliefs.

 
 

Stephen Town, Martha Kyrillidou Honored for Outstanding Performance Measurement and Metrics Paper

stephen-town-and-martha-kyrillidouStephen Town, Martha Kyrillidou (left to right)Emerald Group Publishing has selected “Developing a Values Scorecard” by University of York (UK) Library’s Stephen Town and ARL’s Martha Kyrillidou as the Outstanding Paper of 2014 for the Performance Measurement and Metrics journal. In the paper, which is freely available to download, Town and Kyrillidou propose a value scorecard that can be used alongside the balanced scorecard to draw a more value-oriented picture of library strengths and impact. Emerald presented the award to Town and Kyrillidou at the Library Assessment Conference in Seattle today, August 5, 2014. Library Assessment Conference 2014 Travel Award Recipients Selected

These grants are offered to students and early-career professionals from historically underrepresented racial and ethnic groups who have demonstrated a strong interest in assessment and have the potential to contribute to the profession by deploying and developing innovative assessment and evaluation methods and strategies. The awards cover attendance, travel, and meals at the Library Assessment Conference, which will be held at the University of Washington (UW) in Seattle, August 4–7, 2014.
