LibQUAL+® 2015 Registration Now Open: Join the Global Assessment Community

countries-of-libqual-mapCountries of LibQUAL+ARL invites libraries to join the global assessment community of LibQUAL+ by registering for the 2015 LibQUAL+ survey.

LibQUAL+ is a suite of services that libraries use to solicit, track, understand, and act upon users’ opinions of service quality. The program’s centerpiece is a rigorously tested web survey paired with training that helps libraries assess and improve library services, change organizational culture, and market the library.

 
 

Public Library Registration Package for Library Assessment Conference 2014

u-washington-suzzallo-libraryimage © Chris DubéARL and the University of Washington Libraries are offering a special $200 public library package for the 2014 Library Assessment Conference to be held August 4–6 in Seattle, Washington. The package includes conference attendance on Wednesday, August 6, and a choice of one workshop on Thursday, August 7. Traditionally, the conference has focused on academic libraries. This year, selected papers, panels, and workshops—especially those scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday during the conference—are of interest to public libraries.

 
 

Assessing ILL/DD Services: New Cost-Effective Alternatives

This 2004 ARL study by Mary Jackson, with Bruce Kingma and Tom Delaney, collects and analyzes current data on the performance of mediated and user-initiated (unmediated) ILL/DD services. The study also identifies and describes characteristics of low-cost, high-performing, mediated and user-initiated ILL/DD operations to assist ILL managers to improve their own operations.

How do we know we’ve achieved our intended outcomes for our target audiences? What tools can help us begin to measure those outcomes?
