Improving Library Service Quality by Using LibQUAL+® Effectively and Strategically—Register Now for August 7 Workshop

Registration for the conference is not required to register for the workshop. The full-day workshop will be led by Martha Kyrillidou, ARL director of statistics and service quality programs; Lisa Hinchliffe, professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign; and Raynna Bowlby, ARL consultant.

 
 

Travel Awards for Underrepresented Professionals Available for Library Assessment Conference 2014—Deadline May 30

ARL is offering travel awards of up to $2,000 each for five individuals from historically underrepresented racial and ethnic groups to attend the 2014 Library Assessment Conference: Building Effective, Sustainable, Practical Assessment, to be held August 4–6 on the University of Washington (UW) campus in Seattle. ARL hopes to encourage a diverse group of emerging professionals to engage with this growing field and hopes to expose these new professionals to the rich perspectives of practitioners regarding organizational assessment needs, research, and evaluation.

The conference aims to build and develop a vibrant library community through invited speakers, contributed papers, posters, lightning talks, panels, workshops, and networking with those interested in assessment. The fifth Library Assessment Conference is co-sponsored by the Association of Research Libraries (ARL) and the University of Washington (UW) Libraries.

 
 

Library Assessment Conference 2014—Save the Date

Sponsored by ARL and the University of Washington Libraries, the conference aims to build and further a vibrant library assessment community by bringing together interested practitioners and researchers who have responsibility or interest in the broad field of library assessment. A record number—254—of proposals for papers, posters, lightning talks, and panels were submitted this year; the peer-review process is underway and notification will go out by mid-March. Conference registration will open in April.
