LibQUAL+® 2015 Registration Now Open: Join the Global Assessment Community

countries-of-libqual-mapCountries of LibQUAL+ARL invites libraries to join the global assessment community of LibQUAL+ by registering for the 2015 LibQUAL+ survey.

LibQUAL+ is a suite of services that libraries use to solicit, track, understand, and act upon users’ opinions of service quality. The program’s centerpiece is a rigorously tested web survey paired with training that helps libraries assess and improve library services, change organizational culture, and market the library.

 
 

Improving Library Service Quality by Using LibQUAL+® Effectively and Strategically—Register Now for August 7 Workshop

u-washington-suzzallo-lib-reading-roomimage © Curtis CronnA workshop on acting on LibQUAL+ survey results is being offered on August 7, 2014, in conjunction with the Library Assessment Conference in Seattle, Washington. Registration for the conference is not required to register for the workshop. The full-day workshop will be led by Martha Kyrillidou, ARL director of statistics and service quality programs; Lisa Hinchliffe, professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign; and Raynna Bowlby, ARL consultant.

 
 

LibQUAL+® Seeks Applicants for In-Kind Grant Program 2015

libqual-logoLibQUAL+®LibQUAL+ will award up to three institutions in-kind grants to participate in the 2015 LibQUAL+ survey, with a goal of offering one grant for every 50 libraries registered. This will be the 10th year LibQUAL+ has sponsored an in-kind grant program. There are two application deadlines for the 2015 grant program: June 13, 2014, and December 12, 2014. (The early deadline allows the LibQUAL+ team to plan for translations in new languages with an adequate planning cycle.)

 
 

LibQUAL+® Highlights from 2013, Canada Webcast Video Online

libqual-radar-chartLibQUAL+ radar chartDuring 2013, 165 libraries participated in LibQUAL+, and 202,000 respondents submitted valid surveys. Of these surveys, 72% were “LibQUAL+ Lite” questionnaires and 28% were long. Median survey completion times were 5 minutes, 22 seconds for the Lite questionnaire and 9 minutes, 5 seconds for the long version. For more detail about the 2013 survey at ARL member libraries, the 2013 ARL LibQUAL+ notebook (PDF) summarizes the results from more than 48,000 faculty and students in 29 ARL libraries.

 
 

LibQUAL+® Workshops at ALA Midwinter: Slides Now Online

The team was joined by four guest speakers who presented a wealth of information about implementing the survey and acting on the results at their own libraries. Spring into LibQUAL+® with Conference Call Series—Register Now

desert-dandelionsimage © Dawn EndicoARL is offering a series of free Skype calls designed to support LibQUAL+ survey administrators and to help administrators share expertise with one another. Online registration for the “Spring into LibQUAL+” Skype series is now open for five calls to be held from January through March 2014.

The calls will be hosted by Martha Kyrillidou, senior director of ARL statistics and service quality programs, and Amy Yeager, library relations coordinator for statistics and assessment at ARL.
