Stephen Town, Martha Kyrillidou Honored for Outstanding Performance Measurement and Metrics Paper

stephen-town-and-martha-kyrillidouStephen Town, Martha Kyrillidou (left to right)Emerald Group Publishing has selected “Developing a Values Scorecard” by University of York (UK) Library’s Stephen Town and ARL’s Martha Kyrillidou as the Outstanding Paper of 2014 for the Performance Measurement and Metrics journal. In the paper, which is freely available to download, Town and Kyrillidou propose a value scorecard that can be used alongside the balanced scorecard to draw a more value-oriented picture of library strengths and impact. Emerald presented the award to Town and Kyrillidou at the Library Assessment Conference in Seattle today, August 5, 2014. Library Assessment Conference 2010 Papers Featured in EBLIP

Balanced Scorecard Webcast Video Now Online

The presentation covers the strategic aspects of the scorecard, its development and objectives, goals for its implementation, promoting its purpose, and analyzing results. It also describes ways to create improvement strategies based on the experiences of a number of ARL libraries engaged in the ARL Scorecard Initiative.

 
   

Balanced Scorecard Webcast

This webcast from Dec. 11, 2012, provides an overview of the balanced scorecard for research libraries. The webcast covers the strategic aspects of the scorecard, the tool's development, objectives and goals for its implementation, promoting its purpose, analyzing results, and creating improvement strategies. Presenters include Martha Kyrillidou (ARL), Mark Cutler (Ascendant Strategy Management Group), Rachel Besara (Florida State University), Michelle Demeter (Florida State University), Mary McConnell (University of Calgary), Nina Servizzi (New York University), Gina Midlik (Case Western Reserve University), and Vivian Lewis (McMaster University).

Balanced Scorecard Initiative: ARL Issues Call for Participation

The year-long initiative will engage a small number of research libraries in a systematic way to consider the benefits of applying a locally developed library scorecard. Libraries with a keen interest in continuous improvement and strategic assessment are invited to apply.
