What are some of the best practices in collection management employed in general academic libraries serving nursing or allied health students and faculty at colleges or universities without a medical school? For this study, five librarians were recruited from four public institutions who have collection management responsibilities or who serve as library liaisons to health sciences programs. All institutions represented in the four case studies are peer institutions of Appalachian State University and offer nursing or allied health baccalaureate and master’s degree programs, but do not have medical schools. Interviews were conducted over the phone using open ended questions. Results showed that all libraries had some successful strategies in collection management practices and that resources available at these institutions were not significantly different.
