This project surveyed students and instructors from the North Carolina State University’s First Year Writing Program (FYWP). Instructors volunteered themselves and their classes to participate in the study. Instructors were asked to rate which information literacy skills they believed their students would have. Students were asked to rate their own information literacy skills and were also asked to complete a survey to determine their actual knowledge. The results indicated areas where the Libraries could work to better prepare students for library research and areas where stronger collaborations with the First Year Writing Program could help with this preparation.
