This research project analyzed the online and print usage of the top 500 most accessed titles in HathiTrust Digital Library by the University of Michigan community in 2009. Although more than 900,000 digitized pages were viewed, only 2.2% of the print titles circulated. Mass digitization increased discoverability of the content but there is no evidence of increased demand for the print materials.
