Time Commitment
Times indicated below do not include travel time between the fellow’s home and functions or attendance at ALA conferences in addition to program events.
- January 2013 Leadership Institute: three days
- March 2013 LCDP Institute II: four days
- Campus visit to library of Career Coach: ca. two–three days
- April 2015 LCDP Institute III: four days
- Quarterly conference calls and informal exchanges on e-mail with other participants and coaches on issues and ideas that surface during the course of the program: time will vary but is not expected to be significant.
- Research project: time required will vary but is expected to be moderate.
- June 2014 Closing Ceremony: two hours
Travel Information
The ARL LCDP will provide each participant with up to $500 per event for travel expenses to attend the March 2013 and April 2014 LCDP Institutes. Fellows may use the allotment for air and/or ground transportation and for incidentals associated with attending the events.
The ARL LCDP will also support up to four nights lodging (double occupancy*) and most meals for each of the LCDP Institutes II and III. N.B. LCDP fellows are expected to attend the LCDP Orientation and Final Institute and Closing Ceremony and Poster Session—both held during ALA conferences—but no travel support is provided by ARL for those events.
*Please note that if the fellow requests and is provided single-occupancy lodging, the fellow (or the home institution where appropriate) will be invoiced for the additional room expenses.
