The Leading Ideas publication series was created by ARL as a forum to broadly publicize the research projects of Leadership and Career Development Program participants, and to encourage the sharing of new ideas by new voices in the areas of diversity, leadership, and career development in libraries.
The series began as a bimonthly print and Web publication in March 1998. In January 2000, issue 12 inaugurated Leading Ideas's status as a Web-only publication. The July 2000 issue (no. 15) was the last issue published.
