ClimateQUAL: Organizational Climate and Diversity Assessment is an online survey that collects information about staff perceptions concerning their library's (a) commitment to the principles of diversity, (b) organizational policies and procedures, and (c) staff attitudes.
A joint venture of ARL, the University of Maryland Libraries, and the University of Maryland Industrial/Organizational Psychology Department, ClimateQUAL contains questions designed to understand how organizational procedures and policies affect staff perception of service quality in a library setting. The ClimateQUAL survey addressess a number of climate issues, such as diversity, teamwork, learning, and fairness, as well as current managerial practices, and staff attitudes and beliefs. The survey asks respondents to answer questions about individual identity issues as well as their team or work unit.
Libraries use these data to improve their organizational climate and diversity culture for delivering superior services to the communities they serve.
