Nathasha Alvarez Nathasha Alvarez is a second year graduate student in the dual-degree program at the Long Island University Palmer School of Library and Information Science and New York University, pursuing her MSLIS and MA in history with a focus on archives and public history. She holds a BA from Cornell University in history and French with a minor in International Relations, and is currently working as an archival assistant at the New York University Archives. |

Rose L. Chou Rose L. Chou is pursuing her MLIS at San Jose State University, specializing in archives. She is a graduate of Boston College with a BA in sociology and minor in history. Rose works in the American University (AU) department of history and is a part-time reference librarian at the AU library. Previously, she worked as reference archivist at the Smithsonian's National Anthropological Archives and in circulation at the AU library. Her research interests focus on diversity in the archival profession. |

Julian Etienne Gomez Baranda Julian Etienne Gomez Baranda is a Knowledge River scholar at the University of Arizona (UA) School of Information Resources Library Science. In his MLIS program, his two study areas have been cultural heritage documentation and preservation as well as information, technology and well-being. As a professional, he envisions myself participating in projects that foster the engagement of underserved populations. In the field of academic librarianship his interests lie in the crossroads of digital initiatives and the humanities and social sciences. |

Jennifer Ferretti Jennifer Ferretti is the former curator of photographs and digitization coordinator at the Maryland Historical Society, where she spent the past six years. Prior to that, Ferretti worked at Smithsonian Institution’s National Anthropological Archives where she gained strong digitization and digital project management skills. She is currently enrolled in Pratt Institute’s School of Information and Library Science program in New York City focusing on digital humanities. |

Nabil Kashyap Nabil Kashyap is in his final year at the University of Michigan’s School of Information where he is pursuing an MS in Information with a focus in archives & records management. He holds an MFA in creative writing from the University of Montana and a BA in creative writing from Prescott College. As an information professional, he is interested in pursuing the intersection between archival practice and emerging digital technologies. |

Alexsandra Mitchell Alexsandra Mitchell is a Philadelphia native, and a second year graduate student completing a dual masters in library and information science & Africana studies at New York University in conjunction with Long Island University. She holds a BA in Afro-american studies from Howard University. Mitchell has merged her professional aspirations with her passion in the areas of archives, research, and conservation at esteemed repositories such as the New-York Historical Society, the Weeksville Heritage Center, the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture, the Moorland-Spingarn Research Center, National Geographic Television, the West African Research Center, and New York University Special Collections. |

Charlotte Roh Charlotte Roh is a Master’s candidate at the Graduate School of Library and Information Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She is a research assistant at the Main Library on campus and is involved in several student groups. Her professional background includes six years in academic publishing, specializing in supplementary English language learning programs for all ages. She is interested in diversity in librarianship, bridging the digital divide, and the intersection between corporate and academic research. |

Kai Smith Kai Alexis Smith is pursuing her MSILS at Pratt Institute. She holds a BFA from Pratt Institute in writing for publication. Her experience working as a research specialist in online publishing and her passion for art inspired her to pursue a career as an art librarian. Her main areas of interest include public services and digital resources. Future plans include art research library administration and earning an MA in art history. |

Rachel A. Smith Rachel A. Smith will receive her MLIS from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2013. She holds a B.A. from North Carolina Central University in theatre performance. She was introduced to librarianship while working as a reference page and interlibrary loan clerk at Durham County Public Library during her undergraduate matriculation. She hopes to integrate her passion for the arts with her library education and become an arts-based research librarian upon graduation. |

Dorothy Terry Dorothy Terry is an avid reader and traveller; she received her B.A. in anthropology and classics from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and is working towards an MLS at the University of Wisconsin—Madison. Possessing a desire to learn and explore the world to its fullest, she participated in an archaeological dig in Egypt and hopes to eventually work in New Zealand. Latching onto anything and everything dealing with diversity, she hopes expand her knowledge of indigenous cultures and library services. |
