POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT COLLECTIONS AND ONLINE RESOURCES COORDINATOR UNIVERSITY OF HOUSTON LIBRARIES Responsibilities: Reporting to the Head of Liaison Services for Collections and Research Support, the Collections & Online Resources Coordinator will provide expert support for collection development and assessment, primarily of electronic materials such as e-books, online journals, databases, and other e-resources. Project examples include analysis of collection use data, analysis of approval plans and subscription offers from library consortia and vendors, and investigation of emerging and non-standard material types (e.g. streaming media, proprietary data sets). The Collections & Online Resources Coordinator will work closely with the Resource Discovery Systems, Acquisitions, and Metadata and Bibliographic Services departments to ensure effective communication among subject librarians, technical services, and systems. This position also holds ex officio membership in the Collection Management Committee. The Collections and Online Resources Coordinator is a librarian position. Librarians hold academic rank pursuant to the University of Houston Librarians’ Governance Document. They are expected to develop a record of service and professional involvement. The UH Libraries support the ongoing professional development of librarians and our goal is to recruit librarians committed to continuous learning.
