Collections and Consortia Assessment Coordinator Research Services University of Texas Libraries – The University of Texas at Austin The University of Texas at Austin Libraries invites applicants for The Collections and Consortia Assessment Coordinator. The position reports half-time to the Collection Development Officer in the Research Services Division, half-time to the Licensing Coordinator in the UT System Digital Library consortia (UTSDL), both at the University of Texas Libraries. The Coordinator will work collaboratively with the UT Libraries Collection Council, the Planning, Assessment and Internal Relations Officer, bibliographers and colleagues in other units to develop qualitative and quantitative means of assessing the value and effectiveness of The University of Texas Libraries’ collections. The Coordinator will also collaborate with the Consortia Resources Coordinator, colleagues at UT institutions around the State, as well as vendors in data gathering and dissemination in support of consortial activities. The Collection and Consortia Assessment Coordinator will focus on programmatic planning and support for the generation, analysis and presentation of data to enable evidence-based collection management decisions and assist in realizing strategic priorities that support University and Library academic goals. In addition, the incumbent will actively participate in UT Libraries committee and project team efforts, as well as pertinent professional organizations and staff development opportunities. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Demonstrated knowledge of quantitative and qualitative assessment methodologies, and presenting their outcomes. • Experience with statistics and spreadsheet applications. • Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to manage complex workflows. • Strong analytical and innovative problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and efficiently in a fast-paced and evolving technological, team-oriented and change-ready environment. • Demonstrated willingness to respond to new opportunities with initiative, creative energy, and leadership. • Excellent oral and written communications skills, especially when presenting data. • Experience with relationship building, internally and externally. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Knowledge and understanding of key issues and trends that affect academic libraries and higher education. • Experience with library consortia access models • At least one year of collection development experience in one or more disciplines in an academic research library. • Experience with online resource licensing. • Expertise in statistics and spreadsheet applications, such as Excel, SPSS, ATLAS.ti. • Experience with Millennium and Sierra integrated library system, and Electronic Resource Management Systems. • Experience in project management, analyzing data, and formulating recommendations for improvement. • Demonstrated potential for leadership in university, state, national, and international programs and initiatives. • Ability to work appropriately with sensitive and confidential materials and situations. • Experience with multiple communication tools and their effectiveness in different situations. • MLS from an ALA accredited graduate program. SALARY AND BENEFITS: $50,000 annually or more, depending upon qualifications and experience. No state or local income tax. Standard state benefits package including annual vacation and sick leave, paid holidays, retirement plans, and health insurance options (comprehensive major medical, dental, vision, life, and disability). Deferred compensation and tax sheltered annuity programs also available. Working hours for the position are typically Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm or as arranged for a total of 40 hours per week. Some evening and weekend hours required due to classes or other event schedules.
