The University of Nevada, Las Vegas Libraries invites applications for Head, Curriculum Materials Library.
The position is responsible for the overall management of the Curriculum Materials Library (CML), a branch library located within the College of Education. Information about the CML can be found at http://www.library.unlv.edu/about/cml_facts
Reporting to the Associate Dean for Research and Education, responsibilities include: providing leadership in the organization, development, and enhancement of physical facilities, collections, services, and the administration of the CML; supervising one classified staff member with overall responsibility for two full-time classified staff and six-seven student employees; with the Education Liaison Librarian, providing library liaison services to the College of Education (CoE); coordinating CML services and programs with the College of Education faculty and administrators; collaborating with College of Education faculty and students and conducting ongoing assessment to provide user-oriented services. In collaboration with Education Librarian, the incumbent will be expected to contribute significantly to the planning, development, provision, and assessment of a cohesive program of library services, collections, and strategic information literacy initiatives for the CoE. Additionally, the Head of the CML will lead outreach initiatives to the Clark County School District (CCSD), the fifth largest school district in the United States, including: identification and/or acquisition of CCSD-adopted or internally developed curriculum materials; marketing CML services to CCSD educators; creating professional development opportunities for CCSD teachers and librarians; and building partnerships with CCSD employees with the intention of improving college readiness of CCSD students in the area of research skills and information literacy.
