Maryland ranks 50th among the 115 member libraries of the Association of Research Libraries and has an operating budget of $23.7 million. The University of Maryland Libraries benefit from being situated geographically within minutes of the nation’s capital and its departments, agencies, and research centers. The University of Maryland Libraries is seeking an IT Coordinator to join the System Administration and User Support Services Team to support a dynamic information technology infrastructure and Help Desk functions at the largest University library system in the State of Maryland. The UM Libraries Information Technology Division serves the College Park campus as well as the 16-member University System of Maryland & Affiliated Institutions. Responsibilities: Assists with technical support and maintenance of desktop computers, computing storage and storage servers, networks, applications, and related technology. Support includes specification, installation, and testing of computer systems and peripherals within established standards and guidelines. It also includes assisting with the maintenance and testing of network servers and associated equipment. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and/or experience is required. A minimum of three years of related professional IT experience, experience in supporting Windows and Apple operating system environment, excellent troubleshooting skills and a valid U.S. driver’s license.
