POSITION OPEN POSITION: Librarian I or II, 10-month contract, September 2013-June 2014 DEPARTMENT: Music Library, Faculty of Music DATE REQUIRED: September, 2013 The successful candidate will, under the general supervision of the Acting Head Librarian, work as part of the Music Library staff to provide professional services to faculty, students and members of the wider music community. The main responsibilities of this temporary position will be to manage the acceptance and processing of donations of print materials, including items currently in the backlog, to continue the process of weeding the score collection for transfer to Downsview offsite storage, and to participate in the provision of reference services. Other duties will include aiding in the preparation of materials for the fall and spring library sales. Qualifications and experience: Applicants must be a graduate of an ALA accredited library school with a Master of Library Science/Master of Information Studies degree or equivalent, in addition to a university degree in music. Applicants must demonstrate the ability to work independently and to work as part of a team committed to excellent public service. Preferred: experience working in an academic library setting; working knowledge of one or more languages, especially the major European languages; graduate degree in music. Salary and Terms of Appointment: Experience and qualifications determine salary and appointment level. Librarian I: $58, 100 (minimum) Librarian II: $60,700 (minimum) NOTE:Librarians at the University of Toronto are members of the University of Toronto Faculty Association.
