The DePaul University Library ( seeks a collaborative, innovative and service oriented professional for the position of Digital Archivist. Position Description Reporting to the Head of Special Collections and Archives, the Digital Archivist will work collaboratively across the Library and the University to expand the Library's capacity to responsibly acquire born-digital archival content, manage existing digital holdings, and ensure the effective acquisition, appraisal, description, preservation, future migration, access to and security of digital archives. In addition, the Digital Archivist will engage library and campus partners and provide guidance on best practices for data management, training and development. The Digital Archivist may serve as a liaison librarian in assigned areas. With an annual budget of over $10 million in 2013-14, 33 professional librarians, and a total staff complement of over 70 FTE, the DePaul University Library is a partner in a number of campus programs, including the first-year experience (Chicago Quarter) and the Teaching Commons. In 2013, a major renovation of the Richardson Library has facilitated the launch of the Richardson Library Information Commons, a technology-enhanced space including individual, group, and collaborative work spaces, a Learning Commons and Scholar’s Lab. The DePaul University Library is housed in the Division of Teaching and Learning Resources, which includes the DePaul Art Museum and Faculty Instructional Technology Services, and is an active member of local, regional, and national consortia, including CARLI, the Chicago Collections Consortium, the Catholic Research Resources Alliance, and the Center for Research Libraries.
