Student Academic Support Librarian The University of Virginia Library is seeking a user-focused, energetic, and creative librarian to support the Brown Science & Engineering Library's (BSEL) goal of promoting undergraduate student success. The librarian's role is to envision, design and implement innovative programming for and marketing to undergraduate science and engineering students. Working collaboratively with library staff and other campus partners, the Student Academic Support Librarian will initiate, coordinate, and assess services focused on engaging and supporting undergraduates. This librarian will promote the resources and the services of the library, working towards developing research proficiencies in the undergraduate student population by using traditional in-library encounters and creative outreach methods. This librarian will also actively contribute to the planning, development and provision of instruction and reference services. Qualifications: Required: Master's Degree in Library/Information Science or post-graduate degree in a related discipline. At least 2 years of relevant teaching/instruction experience. Strong public service orientation. Ability to work as part of cross-departmental teams. Well-developed organization and planning skills. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to teach and present in front of groups. Desire to learn about new technologies. Preferred: Experience integrating new technologies into a library setting.
