The Latin American research and Instruction Librarian develops reference and instructional programs for the Latin American Library in consultation with the Director. S/he combines advanced academic research expertise, information fluency, instruction and outreach with collection development in Latin American Studies. With LAL librarians s/he serves as liaison to relevant campus faculty, departments and programs, seeking ways to engage students and faculty with library collections, and coordinates activities with other library instruction programs on campus. The LAL research and Instruction Librarian also shares collection development duties including management of the book budget for Latin American Studies. S/he serves on library committees and actively participates in national and international professional and scholarly associations.
