POSITION:Reference Librarian (Librarian I, 6 –month term) DEPARTMENT:Reference & Research Services, University of Toronto Libraries DATE REQUIRED:January 1, 2014 Position description In Reference and Research Services, providing reference services, in all forms, for humanities and social sciences with emphasis on government information. Required Qualifications: •Applicants must be a graduate of an ALA-accredited library school with an MLIS/MISt degree (or acceptable equivalent) and have an educational background in the humanities or social sciences. •Applicants must have excellent oral and written communication skills including strong organizational and problem solving skills, and the ability to work in a team environment where consultation, flexibility, creativity and cooperation are essential. Preferred Qualifications: •Public service experience and familiarity with government documents, digitization, and web archiving an asset. Salary and Terms of Appointment: $58,100 (Minimum annual salary for full-time Librarian I) Term position from January 1, 2014 - June 30, 2014. NOTE:Librarians at the University of Toronto are members of the University of Toronto Faculty Association.
