The Digital Humanities Developer will ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the ever-changing needs of the Scholars' Lab Research and Development group. The incumbent will function as a software developer, monitoring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing software and associated hardware and operating systems, assisting in project development from start-to-finish. Responsible for independently, or with a team, planning, analyzing project requirements, estimating time commitments, and engineering and developing solutions in collaboration with project stake holders.

Incumbent will address complex problems and will use experience and judgment in selecting among authorized procedures. Incumbent seeks assistance when significant deviations are proposed, or when unprecedented problems arise. Incumbent assists senior staff in developing approaches to problem-solving and anticipating issues.

Impact is felt within the team/department for which the incumbent works and may be felt within multiple, coordinating departments. Work quality, decision-making and long-term project management can affect the productivity of students, faculty and/or staff. Impact of errors can be substantial and/or university-wide.

Interactions are with fellow team members and coordinating team members, but the incumbent will also have interactions with assigned student, faculty, or staff, including opportunities to teach in the Praxis Program. Incumbent works with external vendors or service providers. Incumbent should possess good verbal and written communication skills to convey technical guidance and information to users and to provide excellent customer service. Incumbent will train and provide guidance to more junior staff members.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, MIS, Computer Engineering or related disciplines. Experience with hands-on development and deployment of projects related to digital humanities or cultural heritage.

Salary and Benefits: Competitive depending on qualifications. This position has University Staff status with excellent benefits, including 22 days of vacation and TIAA/CREF and other retirement plans.
