The University of Colorado Boulder Libraries invites applications from experienced, visionary, and creative librarians to provide leadership and expertise in information technology (IT) services as Faculty Director of Libraries Information Technology. The successful candidate will have a strong theoretical and practical understanding of the role of libraries in higher education and how technology enhances and supports our educational mission. The Faculty Director of Libraries Information Technology (LIT) reports to the Senior Associate Dean of Libraries and serves as a member of the Libraries Management Team which works collaboratively to articulate the vision and strategic direction of the Libraries. As a member of the faculty, this position supervises a department of two FTE faculty, 11.5 FTE professional and technical staff, and student assistants. This position plays a key role in developing strategies to support next generation library services and resources in conjunction with Libraries and campus colleagues. The faculty director assumes multifaceted roles and manages a department that provides webmaster functions, web development, coordination and support of digital user experience testing, digitization services, audio-visual media production, and desktop and server support. Providing technical support for Libraries’ faculty research goals is also a component of the director’s responsibilities. In addition, in the campus IT community, the faculty director maintains a leadership role that advocates for the Libraries’ needs in the development of the campus IT infrastructure.
