PURPOSE: Implement and manage a comprehensive system of assessment for Pepperdine University Libraries, including the development of metrics for assessing the effectiveness of services, projects and programs, as related to student learning outcomes, with an emphasis on data collection, aggregation, analysis, interpretation and presentation. DUTIES: Reporting to the Dean of Libraries, works closely with librarians, faculty and the Office of Institutional Effectiveness to develop a comprehensive program of assessment for the libraries, using quantitative and qualitative forms of data gathering, including evidence obtained through surveys, interviews, focus groups, direct measurements, and observations. Develops, implements and manages a plan for exchanging pertinent data with peer institutions for purposes of benchmarking. Lead the library in the analysis and visual representation of data for multiple purposes, such as reporting to a accrediting agencies and briefings for university faculty and administration. SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS: Master's Degree from an ALA-accredited program required; experience with quantitative and qualitative assessment methodologies and their application in academic libraries; proficiency with statistical software applications; familiarity with data visualization and visual analytics; familiarity with current and evolving information technologies; excellent written and oral communication skills; experience working with library-specific assessment tools in an academic library environment.
