Reporting to Ruth Lilly Dean of University Libraries: responsible for overall direction of museum and its programs; collaborate with other IUB Libraries units and university community to develop meaningful educational opportunities and public programs; engage with faculty and students in interdisciplinary research and teaching activities relating to Museum and responsible to engage multiple, diverse publics as s/he develops exhibitions and public programs. Qualifications: Required: Master’s degree in historic preservation, museum studies, library science, or related field; combination of relevant education and/or experience will be considered; minimum of two years of successful experience in academic or research library, a museum, or historical center; knowledge of historic preservation and museum studies; knowledge of current preservation and conservation issues and technologies; ability to meet requirements of tenure-track librarian position. Preferred: supervisory experience; development and grant writing experience; familiarity with development and maintenance of heirloom gardens; experience working effectively as part of or leading committees, local agencies, boards of directors, etc. Salary and Benefits: Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and education; benefits include university healthcare plan, university-funded base retirement plan, 100% university paid group life insurance plan, and a generous paid time off plan.
