Applications are invited for a tenure-track appointment with the University Library at the University of Saskatchewan. We are seeking a dynamic, innovative and flexible individual with strong technical competence and background to work collaboratively as part of the Collection Services team. The Collection Services Unit coordinates technical services processes for the University Library to support teaching, learning, and research. Operating in a dynamic technical services environment, the unit is committed to user-centred, evolving and transformative strategies to acquire, organize, deliver, make findable, and preserve information resources. Throughout its work, the unit has a strong focus on process enhancement/continuous improvement. Librarians with technical services expertise provide infrastructure support (planning, consultation and implementation) for many library initiatives. Reporting to the Assistant Dean (Services to Libraries), this role will focus on the technical aspects of metadata (e.g. description, administration, and preservation) that are critical to the function of discovery systems, the integration of University Library metadata with other catalogues and vendor products, and the development of local digital collections.
