Texas A&M University Libraries seeks a creative, energetic, and dynamic professional to join the Texas A&M University Libraries as a Public Services Librarian. This is a clinical-track academic appointment carrying full faculty status with responsibilities including professional service to meet both the Libraries’ and the University’s requirements for promotion. Reporting to the Coordinator of Public Services, the Public Services Librarian will provide all tiers of reference service in a multi-discipline learning and research environment at the Sterling C. Evans Library. S/he will support public service staff by providing reference expertise, including individual or small group consultations, during evening and weekend hours when few subject specialists are available. S/he will provide reference service at the research consultation desk, via virtual reference (live chat, email), via telephone, and on an on-call basis. S/he will develop and share broad subject expertise and will contribute to the libraries’ instruction and outreach program. S/he will focus collection development activities on the general works (LC range: AC1-AZ999) collection.
