Full-Time twelve month, tenure-track, Assistant/Associate Professor rank. Available as soon as the position is filled. The James E. Walker Library at Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) seeks a Reference/Instruction Librarian who under the general direction of the Head, User Services, and the Team Leader for Reference and Instructional Services, will provide general Reference assistance to users at MTSU. As a member of the Reference and Instruction Team, the candidate will also develop and lead general and subject specific library instruction courses to MTSU undergraduate and graduate students in two state of the art electronic classrooms. The successful candidate will develop and/or promote resources and collections designed to meet the information needs of MTSU students and faculty. ALA accredited master's degree. Ability to work creatively and effectively in a team environment. Extensive knowledge of print and electronic research tools. Demonstrated experience with library instruction to students. Ability to work Sundays through Thursdays. Demonstrated commitment to reference and user-centered services. Familiarity with instructional and multimedia hardware and software applications. Knowledge of emergent trends in academic librarianship. Competitive salary and benefits.
