The University of North Carolina seeks an energetic and collegial Audiovisual Conservator to serve as Project Director for a one year grant (with the possibility of renewal) exploring and planning workflow and large-scale digitization for preservation of and access to sound and moving-image materials from the Southern Folklife Collection (http://www2.lib.unc.edu/wilson/sfc/) in the Louis Round Wilson Special Collections Library (http://www2.lib.unc.edu/wilson/). The Project Director will provide overall leadership for the project; perform analysis of existing workflows and document functional requirements for new workflows; and lead in the research and planning for an integrated workflow and systems to support the large-scale digitization, description, discovery, access, and preservation of sound and moving image collections. The Project Director will coordinate work across library departments and functional units and with other stakeholders such as outside consultants.
