This newly created position will provide service in the Collaborative Learning Center (CLC) located within Bizzell Memorial Library. The CLC will be a newly renovated space dedicated to active, collaborative teaching and learning in a comfortable, flexible space that features state-of-the art technology and services in a prime campus location. The Emerging Technologies Librarian will provide one-on-one service to faculty, students, and staff using new and emerging technologies.  The ETL will investigate and evaluate technologies for potential adoption, provide instruction for users, develop online learning objects, coordinate projects, and supervise students working as peer consultants.

Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in library science or a related field or equivalent
experience in technology and operations management. Ability to explore and evaluate new and
emerging technologies for use and application in library settings; demonstrated technology
proficiency and capabilities working with personal computers and software, the Web, and social
media; ability to teach others about emerging technologies in group and one-on-one settings;
ability to build and sustain effective interpersonal relationships and work collaboratively in a
diverse and fast-paced environment; creative and innovative problem-solving skills and a strong
commitment to service excellence; ability to take initiative, be self-directed, and demonstrate a
commitment to innovation and creativity; and strong organizational, project, and time management
skills to lead multiple projects.
