The University of Missouri – Columbia is seeking qualified applicants for an Access Services Librarian.  Principal duties include: Serve as the librarian in charge of Access Services; provide direction, administration, and coordination of the work of staff and students; helps to develop, implement, and execute policies, procedures, and initiatives relating to circulation, reserve, shelving, interlibrary loan pick up and delivery, and coordinate work with staff of two offsite depositories; administratively supervises library support staff.

 This position will be hired at the rank of Librarian I or a Librarian II, according to the qualifications of the final candidate.

 Required Qualifications:  An ALA-accredited MLS is required along with demonstrated skills and abilities in the following areas:  communication, management, leadership, computerized library systems, and familiarity with access-related areas of an academic research library.  For the Librarian II level, three years of professional library experience is also required.

 Preferred Qualifications:  Experience in Circulation, Reserves or Interlibrary Loan.  Adaptability, flexibility, and an ability to interact with a wide variety of attitudes, temperaments, and personalities.  This position requires collaborative and cooperative behavior, creative thinking, productivity, and a continuous effort to improve skills and performance.

 Compensation:  Salary starts at $45,000.  Salary commensurate with rank and experience.
