Reporting to the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Information Services), Professor Richard Constantine, this role requires an innovative, highly motivated person to lead a team of 86 staff, with a substantial budget, into the next stage of innovation.  The University Librarian provides strategic leadership and operational management in all aspects of the provision of high quality, best practice library services, with an emphasis on innovation that enhances research, learning and teaching outcomes, and supports a diverse student body in a range of learning environments, including physical and virtual hubs. The University Librarian is responsible for the management of Universities Research Repository South Australia, a collaborative research collections storage facility shared with the University of Adelaide and the University of South Australia, and is the University’s Copyright Officer. Constantly improving customer service and cost effectiveness are critical. 
 
The successful candidate will be an accomplished leader and manager within a library setting, be passionate about delivering library services for research and be an innovator who works effectively with staff, colleagues, senior management and external organisations. You must hold a recognised appropriate University degree and be eligible for professional membership of the Australian Library and Information Association.
 
The role is full-time, fixed-term for five years, with the possibility of extension.
