The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill seeks a motivated, energetic, innovative, collaborative, and knowledgeable individual for the position of Associate Director of Library Development. The individual in this position will develop and execute long- and short-term strategies to secure major gifts ($25,000 and up) in support of the academic mission and priorities of the University Library.

Under the direction of the Director of Library Development the Associate Director will identify and manage a group of about 100 prospects for major gifts. This will include local and national travel for qualification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship. The Associate Director will arrange appropriate opportunities for key library administrators to meet with potential donors and will arrange for other’s participation as appropriate. This will include meetings with individuals in their local communities and regional events to bring attention to Library needs, collections and programs. The Associate Director will work closely with the Director of Library Development to plan and execute the University Library’s campaign in association with the forthcoming university-wide campaign. The Associate Director may be responsible for the implementation and management of special campaigns such as reunion class gifts, endowments for specific areas, or other special projects within the Library. The work will include writing proposals and/or preparing materials for use in specific solicitations.
