The University of Virginia's Claude Moore Health Sciences Library seeks a collaborative, forward-thinking professional for the position of Patient and Family Library Manager. The Patient and Family Library Manager partners with health professionals across the continuum of primary and specialty care at the University of Virginia Medical Center and collaborates with Health Sciences Library staff to develop services and collections supporting patient needs. This position plans, develops, manages and implements patient-centered services. This non-tenure track faculty appointment is in an academic research-oriented environment with expectations for research, publication, and participation in professional associations.


The successful candidate must have a master's degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited program, nursing, or other health related field. Demonstrated experience in the use of health information resources and an ability to be self-directed and work independently. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience working with patients, patient education, or in a hospital environment.
