Reporting to Associate Dean for Collection Development and Scholarly Communication oversees management of the following functions for the Office of University Archives and Records Management: collect, appraise, organize, preserve records of enduring value in all formats created by administrators, faculty, students, and alumni; support research and teaching by making available and encouraging use of its collections by the IU community and the public; provide information services which support University administrators in performance of their duties; promote knowledge and understanding of the history, programs, and goals of Indiana University; provide overall direction for developing and implementing a records management strategy for IU Bloomington offices, schools, and departments and for administrative offices on the IUB campus that have system-wide responsibilities. Qualifications:  Required: ALA accredited master’s degree in library or information science; candidates with advanced degree in either library or information science OR in relevant subject area AND appropriate experience in an academic setting will also be considered; minimum five years experience in archival work in an academic setting;  formal coursework or training in archival management and theory; experience with archiving, preservation, and/or records management of digitized and born-digital materials. This is a tenure-track academic appointment that includes eligibility for sabbatical leaves once achieving tenure.
