When reviewing a training event or seeking feedback from another person on your training, consider using the checklist below to guide your analysis.
Design Considerations
- Goals and Preparation. Set? Goals stated, explained, reached?
- Directions. Clear? Adequate? Followed by action?
- Lecturettes. Organization? Appropriate? Understandable?
- Processing. Adequate? Appropriate timing? Techniques used?
- Time Limits. Stated? Stuck to? Time periods well-chosen?
- Staging. Organization of participants? Location? Equipment?
- Participants and Staff. Secondary trainers or helpers? Facilitator role definition?
- Materials. Appropriate? Quality? Availability?
- Design and Atmosphere. Sequence flow? Flexible? Make sense?
Style Considerations
- Voice. Volume? Speed? Tone?
- Physical Presentation. Eye contact? Facial expression? Body language?
- Verbal Behavior. Wording clear, appropriate, non-evaluative?
- Interventions. Kind? Well-chosen? Handling of questions?
