Kenning Arlitsch is Associate Director for Administrative and IT Services at the Marriott Library, University of Utah. Born and raised in New York, Kenning has lived in Utah since 1994, when he was hired as an Instruction Librarian. In 1997-98 Kenning was one of 12 librarians selected by the International Fellows program of ALA/USIA, and was sent to live in Cyprus for six months, where he taught classes and negotiated the country's first consortium purchase of Web-based databases. From 2000-04 he began building the Marriott's digital library program, founding the multi-state Mountain West Digital Library, the Utah Digital Newspapers program, and worked with the Greater Western Library Alliance to launch the Western Waters Digital Library. In 2004 he was named Head of Information Technology for the library, and in 2007 became an Associate Director. Kenning holds a BA in English from Alfred University in New York, an MLIS from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and is a 2005 graduate of the Frye Leadership Institute.
