Association of Research Libraries (ARL®)

Christine Avery is Head of the University College Libraries (14 Penn State campuses in various locations around the state) and is Collection Development Coordinator for Commonwealth Campus Libraries at Penn State University.  Collection Development in the Penn State University Libraries is a cooperative venture between the distributed campus locations and the University Park campus.  Earlier in her career at Penn State, Christine was a social sciences librarian and also a business librarian.  Prior to coming to Penn State, she worked at the University of Wyoming as Head of Reference. Christine's first job as a librarian was with an advertising and marketing agency in Austin, Texas. Christine has an MLS from the University of Texas at Austin, an MS in applied social research from Texas Christian University, and a BS in sociology from Texas A&M University.
