Association of Research Libraries (ARL®)

ARL has developed--or collaborated with others on the development of--several major initiatives:

• Coalition for Networked Information (CNI)--an organization that supports the transformative promise of networked information technology.

• LibQUAL+®--a suite of services that libraries use to solicit, track, understand, and act upon users’ opinions of service quality.

• SPARC (the Scholarly Publishing and Academic Resources Coalition)--an international alliance of academic and research libraries working to correct imbalances in the scholarly publishing system.

• Library Copyright Alliance (LCA)--a coalition of major library associations addressing copyright issues that affect libraries and their patrons.

• Know Your Copy Rights®--a Web site for librarians who are developing positive educational programs for academic users of copyrighted materials in US not-for-profit institutions.
