ARL and the Digital Library Federation (DLF) are pleased to announce the new ARL/DLF Forum Fellowship for Underrepresented Groups. ARL and DLF are sponsoring up to five fellowships to promote racial/ethnic diversity at the Digital Library Federation Forum. Fellowships will provide up to $1,000 to cover travel costs and registration to the DLF Forum will be waived. The 2013 forum will be held on November 4–6 in Austin, Texas, and is open to all who are interested in playing an active role in the successful future of digital libraries, museum and archives services, and collections.
The 2013 DLF Program Planning Committee will award the fellowships. Scholarship recipients will be required to write a blog post, following the forum, about their experience; this blog post will be published by DLF and ARL.
To qualify for this scholarship, an applicant must be interested in actively contributing to the DLF Forum and be of Hispanic or Latino, Black or African American, Asian, Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander, or American Indian or Alaskan Native descent.

Please send an e-mail with “UG Fellowship” as the subject to lkwasigroch@clir.org. Include in the message the following information:
- A statement of interest in the DLF Forum and the broader DLF community (400 words maximum)
- How you intend to participate in the DLF Forum
- A statement of need
- An indication of your eligibility
- A résumé or CV
- A nomination letter from a DLF community member
Applications are due September 6, 2013. Notification of awards will be sent by September 30, 2013.
