ARL President Wendy Lougee, university librarian at University of Minnesota, will convene the 163rd ARL Membership Meeting in Arlington, Virginia, on the afternoon of Wednesday, October 9. Several programs that build on recent discussions about strategic thinking and the future framework for ARL are in development. The meeting will adjourn on Thursday afternoon, October 10, just before the start of the ARL Fall Forum on “Mobilizing the Research Enterprise.” Please see the Membership Meeting schedule for complete details, including information on the committee meetings to be held Wednesday morning before the Membership Meeting convenes.
The Membership Meeting will be held at the Crystal Gateway Marriott in Arlington, Virginia. The cutoff date for reserving hotel rooms at the ARL rate of $219 ($239 for a double) is September 20, 2013. Reservations made after that date will be on a space-available basis. ARL member representatives are requested to make their hotel reservations via the Crystal Gateway Marriott site or by calling the Marriott Reservations toll-free number at (877) 212-5752 and mentioning the “ARL Member Meeting.”
ARL member representatives are also requested to complete the Attendance Questionnaire online by indicating the activities they plan to attend. The deadline for completion is September 20, 2013.
