The American Council on Education (ACE) has elected ARL executive director Elliott Shore to serve as a higher education association representative to the ACE board of directors for a one-year term ending March 2015. ACE represents the presidents of US accredited, degree-granting institutions of higher education, which include two- and four-year colleges, private and public universities, and nonprofit and for-profit entities. The ACE board of directors is primarily composed of presidents and chancellors of universities from across the US, including several ARL institutions. Shore’s appointment reflects his focus on strengthening relationships with organizations that share ARL’s goals and values.
